![]() ![]() you cannot use an adapter on it because of a different pinout. The S4 uses a samsung specific MHL dongle. I'm getting a new S7, so I'd rather not throw any more money at the S4. ![]() Failing that, I think my only other option is to replace the screen. I'm going to try hooking a USB keyboard directly to the phone. And there doesn't appear to be a way to change the phone from one to the other without, you guessed it, first unlocking the phone. I suspect it's because it's configured as an MTP device and not PTP. However, even though I had USB Debugging turned on, the phone does not show up in the list of devices. I installed the Android SDK so I could use "adb" to send the PIN to the phone to unlock it. I would normally enter my PIN on the phone to view the folders/data. ![]() When I plug in the phone to my Win7 laptop, the phone shows up, but no folders appear because it's locked. Here's the problem - how do I get the data off the phone if it's locked with a PIN? However, the phone itself continues to the work (my Pebble watch, for instance, receives e-mails and can respond to texts). It doesn't display anything nor does it respond to any inputs. ![]()
